Social media specialists agree that using social media is an indispensable tool for real estate professionals and business leaders alike, for that matter. According to the article "Leveraging Social Media for Real Estate Success" by MoxiWorks, it is wise for real estate professionals to have social media accounts, including LinkedIn, Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, and even YouTube! But how do you begin to leverage social media for real estate success?
Step 1: Start off with the "basics" of social media. For example, start by opening your own personal Facebook account before diving into a complete business setup. (A regular Facebook account will help you become familiar with the nuances of social media, and you'll be able to make quicker connections with friends and family first. Also, Facebook is known to be more user-friendly!)
Step 2: Learn how to create small and creative posts, such as posting GIFs, comments, or sharing funny posts of other users. (This will help break-the-ice, and you will be able to practice the different functions. Work at your own pace!)
Step 3: Once you are more comfortable with the social media climate, you can then start to post images of yourself and videos. Since you will want to create a business profile, you should start off on the formal side and post business-like images and videos.
Step 4: Now that you are more comfortable with Facebook (or Instagram, whichever app you choose to start from scratch), you can create a business profile. (Recommendation: have both personal and business accounts/profiles.)
Step 5: On your business profile, post consistent, high-quality images and videos of your brand or business. Join real estate or business communities. Engage and reach out to other businesses. (They may have a service or product that you might want for yourself!)
Step 6: At this step, you are feeling more comfortable using social media, so now you can open other accounts: Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn. (YouTube is also an option but may require more time, effort, and skills in video-generation and editing.)
Step 7: Enjoy social media while you advance your real estate vision, ideas, community, and career!
